The Dabber is back on the market, just purchased a bigger boat. The Dabber is an absolutely fantastic boat, a great daysailer with significant sailing capabilities. The boat has been upgraded and is ready to sail. Recent additions include:
New Mercury 3.5 hp 4 stroke outboard motor
Roller furling headsail
Custom cockpit cover
Additional flotation added
This is a great boat in all conditions for sailing single-handed and seats four adults comfortably.
The boat can be sailed, rowed, or powered by a small outboard motor.
Great in the lightest breeze, exhilarating in higher winds, and easy to reef by just dropping the mainsail, when necessary. This is also a great boat to just motor around in or fish from.
The Dabber has a high freeboard and is beamy, so she is ideal for children who can stand, walk around, and lean over the side. Small children are often anxious when the boat heals to one side or the other, which is not a problem if the boat is sailed with just the jib and mizzen.
Her shallow draft means this is an excellent boat for exploring shallow waters where keel boats cannot go. The heavy walled hull and centerboard means you can relax a bit about grounding.
These iconic boats are still being manufactured in the UK, where they currently sell for £19,500 or $24,500 USD new (plus shipping from the UK), and are rare to find over here in North America.
