The Nimble 20 is a yawl rig sailboat. She has a canoe hull with a fixed stub keel with a retractable centerboard. It displaces 1850 lbs and carries 600 lb (272 kg) of ballast. The boat has a draft of 4.08 ft with the centerboard extended and 0.92 ft with it retracted, allowing beaching and easy ground transportation on a trailer. The boat has a 6 hp Nissan outboard motor mounted in a well in the aft of the cockpit. The design has sleeping accommodation for four people but is more comfortable with two. It has a double "V"-berth in the bow and two straight settees in the main cabin.
