With a draft of only 9", the Bay Hen is a gunkholer's delight.
Her long chine lets her sail in as little as 12" of water; She'll go windward in 18".
Her small cuddy is completely open on the inside with a lot of storage space for personal gear, ground tackle, bedding, galley stuff, and provisions.
The bay hen is easily singlehanded. Her single sail is controlled by a sheet led to a cleat on the tiller.
The motor well is handy and efficient.
The well is designed to allow mounting of a standard shaft outboard motor.
With an all up weight of under 1000lbs, the Bay Hen is easily trailered and launched. One person can step the unstayed mast in it's tabernacle.
The total time normally spent at the ramp launching, rigging, and setting sail is usually under 10 minutes (this time does not, of course, include time spent chatting with admirers of your Bay Hen).
