I purchased the boat in 2018, sailing it from Marblehead, MA to Mystic, CT, (Cape Canal to Buzzard’s Bay - wind against current - boat did great!) where it lived for 3 years, before sailing it from CT to Burlington, VT up the Hudson, in 2021, to Lake Champlain. Boat ran GREAT on that trip and has continued to be reliable and a perfect pocket cruiser. While on LIS, boat was stored each winter up the CT River - so got a good fresh water flush each fall.
I’m selling only as I’m getting close to retirement and am making the move to a small trawler. This is a great small sailboat that can take more than the skipper - has great bones (I looked hard for a good one till I found this one back in 2018) and just needs some cosmetic TLC and time to sail her! See John Vigor’s Twenty Small Boats to Take You Anywhere…
If I was keeping it, I’d strip the rest of the varnish off the wood and Cetol it, replace the now-absent cloth for the bimini, and I’d re-core the cockpit floor, which is soft (as is the case with most 25Ds of this era).
Included if purchase price is satisfactory - Wood Chesapeake Light Craft Ultralight Dinghy (approx 35lbs) that fits on the foredeck and secures to pad-eyes already installed. See photo from Hudson River trip.
