Philip Rhodes Traveller 32, 1977 sailboat for sale

U.S. Coast Guard documented vessel
  • Fully transferable slip in Alameda, California

Rare , sought after full keel (nicely cutaway forefoot) , double ended , Cutter rigged, Colin Archer type cruising sailboat.
  • Grace is a proven circumnavigator and competed in the 1988 Colin Archer race.
  • Philip Rhodes Traveller 32
  • LOA: 32
  • LWL:27
  • S.A. 581 square ft
  • Beam: 10.16
  • Displacement: 142000 lbs
  • Ballast, lead encapsulated :5300 lbs
  • Draft: 5
  • Water: approx 100 gallons in 2 tanks , forward stainless tank is BRAND NEW and unused
  • Fuel: aprox 60 gallons in 2 tanks
  • Engine: Universal M25 XPB fresh water cooled marine diesel. Under my stewardship she had her engine’s cooling system completely rebuilt , brand new raw water pump , thermostat , hoses , zincs , fluid etc. The Universal M25 XPB runs very well.

Sails and rigging: Full suit of sails .All in used , working condition, with one or 2 small repairs needed: Main , Yankee , Genoa , Staysail , Spinnaker , 2 older jibs
  • Double spreader rig with keel stepped mast
  • Quick release inner stay to sail as a sloop if desired
  • All standing rigging with Sta-lock terminals
  • Rigging in good condition
  • Barlow self tailing sheet winches

    Manual and electric bilge pumps

Anchoring: 35 CQR w/ appropriate chain and rode , Lewmar power windlass
  • Spare Danforth and rode
  • VHF , Furuno Radar , Am/F, CD Stereo and BRAND NEW Raymarine Smartpilot X5 autopilot
  • Head: Jabsco marine toilet w/ flexible holding tank

    Galley:
  • The 3 burner stove and oven need a new propane tank and hose run. The old ones were removed when I bought her.
  • Ice box and deep , stainless steel sink with pressure , fresh water , older hot water heater is un-tested

Beautiful , cozy teak interior with tons of storage. Both main saloon settee’s pull out , starboard side to a double
  • Gorgeous gimbaled teak main saloon table with folding leaves
  • There are a few signs of water damage to her inside head liner. I sourced the leaks and the boat remained dry this rainy season , except for one little spot above the V-berth.

I bought Grace and spent a lot of time , elbow grease and money getting her motor in top running condition. When I first bought her , I took off all the sails and kept them in my storage unit to protect them. Once re-rigged , Grace can be out sailing the San Francisco Bay and beyond.
  • She is in need of exterior cosmetic work: sanding , varnishing , waxing etc , but is a rock solid Bluewater vessel. Her Canvas dodger needs new Eisenglass windows . I spoke with a local canvas maker , who quoted $200.
  • The diver cleaned her bottom 1 month ago, His report: paint , zincs and bottom look great.
  • The cosmetic work required is reflected in the cheap price. It’s my desire that she goes to someone who will enjoy her and use her for her intended purpose: Bluewater cruising.
  • Price: $4999
