On the way to Aunt Dottie's 80th birthday party in Louisiana we stopped at Lake Somerville, east of Giddings. The Brazos Sailing Club meets here but we were there on a weekday and didn't get to see them. The area suffered from floods of Yegua Creek until the dam was built. When in the Birch Creek area of Somervile Lake State Park on the north side we took a walk on the western hiking trail.
